Delcam will be showing the award-winning jewellery design and manufacturing (CADCAM) software, ArtCAM JewelSmith on booth B6682 at the JCK Las Vegas show from May 31st to June 4th. The latest release included a more extended component library of over 150 extra models, easy construct setting for gem dimensions, more fluid vector creation, better blending of complex shapes and instant cut-out of reliefs.
In addition to the enhanced design functionality, a great deal of technology from Delcam’s industry-leading CAM system, PowerMILL, has been incorporated into ArtCAM JewelSmith over the past year. The advantage to users is the even faster calculation times for machining. ArtCAM JewelSmith’s integrated machining wizards set the machine toolpaths or provide the necessary output files for CNC machining or rapid prototyping.
For jewellery produced from more than one material, ArtCAM JewelSmith can divide the design into separate files for manufacturing.
To help visualize the design, ArtCAM offers rendering in numerous materials, including gold and platinum. Jewellery pieces can be assembled on screen, with the gems set in place, assigned materials to the various parts of the piece, then moved and rotated within a fully reflective environment. If clients are not available for onsite viewing of finished designs, realistic images can be sent to the customer for final approval in a rotatable 3D pdf.
