The LIGHT project will implement and validate CADCAM solutions for lightweight components 3D printed from metals. LIGHT will use novel low-density lattice structures to support overhanging geometries to prevent deformation during printing. The project will push the boundaries of ‘extreme engineering’, and is supported by the UK Technology Strategy Board.

Project mission: To inspire new design freedoms and lightweight solutions for metal additive manufacturing.
